Job Purpose | The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a secretarial support service to management. This post is stationed in Cape Town (CBD). |
Minimum Requirements | Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or higher (a certificate of completion should be provided); A minimum of 3 years experience in rendering secretarial/ administrative support services to management/ senior management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply. |

Key Performance Areas | Provide a secretarial/receptionist support service to the manager; Render an administrative support service; Provide support to the senior manager regarding meetings; Support the senior manager with the administration of the budget; Analyse the relevant public service and departmental prescripts, policies and other documents and ensure that the application thereof is understood properly. |
Competencies | Knowledge of the following: Relevant legislation, policies, prescripts and procedures; Financial administration; Skills needed: Proven computer literacy; Organising; Good people skills; Communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills. Ability to: Communicate well with various stakeholders at different levels and from different backgrounds; Act with tact and discretion; Do research and analyse documents and situations. |
Remuneration | R 269 214 per annum (Salary level 7)Note on remuneration: Employees’ service benefits or obligations (13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements. |
