Job Purpose The main purpose of the Service Consultant role is to educate clients on digital and self-service solutions, process cash transactions, provide cash fulfillment (balancing and replenishment), and perform first-line device maintenance to meet business goals and exceed client expectations.
Job Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Service Consultant include, but are not limited to:
Client Engagement:
- Addressing concerns related to queue flow or digital devices.
- Assisting clients with downloading online applications and resolving login issues.
- Helping clients purchase value-added services online or through self-service devices.
- Assisting clients in obtaining statements, cards, and other relevant documentation from self-service zones.
- Building and maintaining client relationships by keeping clients informed of progress or actions taken regarding their applications, queries, and requests.
- Educating clients on self-service, digital functionality, and features.
Business Operations:
- Accepting and servicing cash transactions over the counter.
- Balancing and securing branch stock holdings, such as cards.
- Controlling the queuing process and prioritizing clients with special needs.
- Enabling further processing of inter-bank transfers.
- Ensuring ATM/ID availability through cash balancing and attending to down devices.
- Executing cash management, efficiency, and recycling strategies within the store.
- Minimizing losses and declaring discrepancies in cash holdings.
- Processing client deposits, withdrawals, and transfer requests.
- Processing client forex requests.
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
- Diploma
Preferred Qualification
- Banking Services (example, Higher Certificate in Banking Services – NQF5)
Minimum Experience Level
- 1 – 2 years of Retail/Banking Client Service, Cash, Technology Savvy, 1st Line Problem Resolution experience. Foreign experience is also considered where applicable.
